Patra takes its name from the Sanskrit word for leaf, and the engraving is exactly that. A row of fine leaf strokes cut by hand along the whole length of the band, each one struck individually with a chisel rather than pressed by machine.

Look closely and no two leaves are identical. The artisan works down the band freehand, which is why this pattern has a rhythm that stamped jewellery never quite finds.

Caring for it

The engraved grooves hold a darker tone as the copper ages, which deepens the pattern over time. If you would rather keep it bright, lemon and salt on a soft cloth will lift it. Dry it after washing your hands and it will stay looking its best.
