Copper Jug and 2 Glasses Set 1.5L, Green Honeycomb Patina

Sale price $179.90 Regular price $239.90

The green on this one is not paint, and it is not a coating that will flake off in a year.

Our artisans press the honeycomb into the copper first. Then the patina gets worked down into the recesses by hand, so the raised pattern stays bright copper and the green settles into the hollows behind it. It is slow work and it is the reason no two of these come out quite the same. Hold two side by side and one will read bluer, the other more forest.

It ends up looking like something that has been in a family a while, rather than something that arrived in a box last Tuesday.

Inside, plain bare copper. Nothing lining it, nothing plated over it.

What you get

  • One embossed copper jug, with lid and handle
  • Two matching copper glasses
  • Green patina worked over hand embossed honeycomb
  • 99.6 percent pure copper

The one thing to know before you buy

Do not clean the outside with lemon, salt or copper polish. Those are made to strip tarnish, and patina is a close enough cousin that they will take the green with it. Once it is gone it does not come back.

A damp cloth is honestly all the outside ever needs. The inside is ordinary bare copper and you can clean that however you normally would. Hand wash, never the dishwasher.

A few things people ask

Is the inside green too?
No. The patina is outside only. Inside is plain copper, same as every other piece we make.

Will it fade?
Not with normal use. The patina is worked into the metal rather than sprayed on top of it. Keep the abrasives away and it will outlast you.

Why does mine look different to the photo?
Because it is not the one in the photo. Every piece is struck and patinated by hand. If you want two identical objects, this is not the set for you, and I would rather say that now than have you disappointed later.

Has the copper been tested?
Yes, by Eurofins against the European food contact standard EU 10/2011. Lead was not detected, and neither were cadmium, mercury, nickel, arsenic or chromium. The full results are here.

Disclaimer: Copper is a natural metal and may gradually change colour or develop a patina over time due to its natural reaction with water, air, and minerals—this is normal and does not affect its quality or benefits. To maintain its shine, clean regularly using natural methods such as lemon and salt or a mild copper cleaner. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, dishwashers, and harsh chemicals, as they may damage the surface.
