Has the copper been tested for lead?
We put the copper vessel through independent laboratory testing rather than just claiming a result. Eurofins tested it against European food contact regulation EU 10/2011 and lead was not detected. Cadmium, mercury, nickel, arsenic and chromium were not detected either.

Is the vessel really copper, or copper plated steel?
The vessel is raised from solid copper sheet, with no plating or lining on the water contact surface. There is an easy check at home too: copper is not magnetic, so a fridge magnet will not stick to it.

Does it run on electricity, and does it keep water cool?
No electricity. There is nothing to plug in and nothing that heats the water. Copper is a fast conductor, so the vessel stays cool to the touch and the water sits at room temperature. In summer, chill the vessel or add ice if you want it cold.
